They are the smartest person sitting on their chair, but they ignore every other person.
They FEEL they are smarter, so they consider their feeling as a fact and assume their feeling is objective. This may happen through others hyping them.
They think - I know what I know, since I can’t be in your head and observe your thoughts, I’ll just assume you don’t know anything.
They have always been told they are extra special and better than others, and that they deserve to be better than others. This voice is internalized and hard to ignore.
They are the smartest person around them, but they know very few people and have no exposure, so they conclude they are very smart.
An event in their life made them feel very incompetent and insecure, so they believe everyone else is equally incompetent and insecure, and deny other's intelligence.
They will judge your intelligence based on an area they are an expert in and dismiss your expertise as a valid way to acknowledge your intelligence.
